Decisions always change you

Everyone has their own decisions in life. And these decisions may also result to anything either bad or good. This might change our path in life and will always affect our future. One of the most affected when we make decisions is our family. That's why when we make decisions, our family is always involved. Especially in situations when they are involved.

In the stories Illiad and Aeneid, there was a situation experienced by the characters where they will need to choose between their family and home city.. Where they will need to choose between their family and their home city. In the case in the story of Illiad; Hector, the son of the king of of Troy, needed to defend his city from the Greeks who invaded them. His wife, Andromache, begs him to just save himself from the war and just escape with her. But Hector refused, as the son of the king, he needs to save his city even if he will die. In Aeneid, Aeneas wanted to save his family from the attack of the Greeks, but his wife, Creusa, wanted him to just protect their house during the attack. But Aeneas knew that they will just die if they stay, so he and his family went to escape. But his wife, Creusa, was left behind and she died. When Aeneas returned to the city, only Creusa's ghost appeared to him. Creusa told him to stay strong because he will have a good future towards him. Maybe, Creusa's death made Aeneas more determined to bring back their city.

Decisions can lead to frustrations but they may also lead to success. When the two made their decisions, they must not regret it because even if it leads to success or failure it was their decision and they will need to do their best in order for it to be successful  Everything happens for a reason. And may all of us accept this fact and don't be frustrated if we lose or fail. Lets just accept it and think that it was not for us for that moment but later will be.

Victory caused by Defeats

Defeat is a very lonely moment that you should always accept. All things happens for a reason. Like Aeneas, his city was defeated by the Greeks and was burned down. He lost many of his loved ones and this made him stronger. His King was killed by the time the Greeks attacked them. His father died when they faced a cyclops. Pallas, who was killed by Turnus. All of these defeats made Aeneas stronger. He wanted to avenge all of the people who sacrificed their life for him.

Every challenge Aeneas face, he grows stronger and stronger, making him ready to face more challenges he will need to face. They never surrendered even though they are outnumbered already. They fought and fought until they succeeded. You will never reach victory if you don't gain experience in every challenges you face. You can never win without inspirations, the reasons why you wanted to win.

The Fallen Troy

The city Troy was built by Trojans long time ago, and this Trojans are the enemies of the ancient Greeks. Aeneas was born in this ancient city and grew up here. The city falls by a betraying gift from the Greeks called "The Trojan Horse." This is a big wooden horse that was supposed to be a friendly gift from the Greeks to the Trojans. But it was a trap, there were hundreds of soldiers inside of the horse's belly and attacked the city of Troy. The city was destroyed and luckily, Aeneas escaped and flee with others who also survived the unexpected attack.

I feel bad for Aeneas because at the time when Troy is being attacked, he can't do anything to save his home city. He also didn't get the chance to save his own wife and friends. All he had just done is escape and flee from his burning city. He saw his own city being destroyed by the Greeks. Everyone would feel bad for the tragic events. But Aeneas, I think, feel worse because he had a chance to save his city but he didn't grab it because he know that he can't save it anymore. The memories he left at the burning city are all gone including his love ones. He is all alone now, his wife dead, the person he love most that was always there for him now gone. And now of course, he thinks of avenging his wife, his friends, his home city from those cruel Greeks. And he will do everything to have his revenge on them.

If Aeneas and the Trojans who survived the attack will go to found Rome, my feelings will not change. I will be happy for them because they had found a new home to settle in and may treat it as if it was Troy.
